The Collections Management Certification Program provides instruction and hands-on training in contemporary techniques in the emerging field of Museum Collections Management.
The goal of the program is to train museum and collections care professionals – those who work directly with local collections – to make ongoing and meaningful improvements to the state of their collections; thus making them accessible to the public through exhibitions, and to scholars and educators, supporting efforts to protect and preserve significant cultural heritage, as well as contribute to a reenergized economy through significant cultural outreach, both locally and internationally.
